The City of Buda is planning for construction of a multi-use trail of approximately 7,700 feet that runs along Onion Creek.

Contracted Firm: Freese and Nichols, Inc.

Current Status:

  • The Onion Creek Trail advertised and opened for bids on October 10, 2024. Buda City Council awarded the bid to M&C Fonseca Construction Company, Inc. for $989,905 during the November 6, 2024 regular City Council meeting. Construction could begin as early as December 2024 and last approximately 4 months.

Bond Amount: $553,500

Hays County has contributed $550K in funding for this project through the 2020 Parks & Open Space Bond.
